On arrival in Sri Lanka, you will be met and assisted by our Airport Representative. Your very own driver will the bring you (and your group) to Habarana, a small village with excellent hotels. Due to its central location, Habarana is the perfect place from which all ancient city sites can be reached. After check in at your hotel, you will have a well-deserved leisurely evening to yourself.

Destination: Polonnaruwa
Drive: Distance (43 km)
After breakfast, you will head to Polonnaruwa, the 11th century ancient capital of Sri Lanka. Polonnaruwa has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and history enthusiasts can relish here all day long. You will go back to your hotel in Habarana in the evening.

After enjoying an early breakfast, you’ll check out and set off for Dambulla, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Perched atop a 600-foot rock, this is the largest surviving cave temple complex in Sri Lanka. Long before Buddhism arrived, these caves served as dwellings, and today you can explore around 80 caves filled with history, ancient murals, and statues.

Next, you will explore Sigiriya, the legendary 5th-century citadel built by King Kashyapa. Surrounded by a deep moat, this ancient fortress is famed for its vivid frescoes and the Mirror Wall (Ketapath Pawura). Visitors have long admired the ruins of the city complex, including lush gardens, defensive structures, water reservoirs, and elegant buildings. Even during the rainy season, the water gardens and fountains remain spectacular, making Sigiriya the most iconic historical site in Sri Lanka
